From FOMO to ROMO: The power of intentional choices
😇 I recently heard Cillian Murphy use ROMO (Relief of missing out) in a very witty and viral remark on not starring in a movie. 😇 That immediately took me back to my many conversations with multiple clients around just the opposite – FOMO (Fear of missing out) and saying no.
I often hear my clients say that they tend to say yes to most of the things that come their way - as they don’t want to miss out on opportunities or they don’t want to look less committed. This makes them choose from fear, and they often end up doing things that are not aligned to who they are - which then leads to overwhelm and dissatisfaction.
But here is the key - What if saying no to things mean saying yes to an intentional choice? 💫
Saying no does not mean you are rejecting, it means you are staying aligned to yourself, you are protecting your energy, being focused and creating more impact. 💥
Asking a simple question like – 🌼 “In saying no to something, what am I creating space for? 🌼 – often helps us decide what can be an intentional choice in this moment?
It helps us understand what truly matters, what am I saying yes to – in terms of my wellbeing, my leadership, my own growth?
What is that one thing you want to say no to this week and experience ROMO? 🤔
